Scientists testingBlood-borne viruses (BBVs) are those viruses that are transmitted from the blood of one person to the blood of another person. Of particular concern are Hepatitis B Virus (HBV), Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).

This website is addressed to healthcare workers, individuals responsible for healthcare worker safety such as managers, quality improvement staff and the community at large.

Our team of virologist and medical officers can provide expert advice to persons at risk of BBV exposure and to their supervisors. We aim to provide an open forum for discussion on community issues related to blood-borne viruses, particularly in the area of laboratory testing.
